Potters have recently issued an update of their guidelines. While it covers a number of things, the most important thing for Carpet Bowlers relates to footwear.

The guidelines now state: please wear clean bowls shoes on the rink, as outdoor shoes, heels and trainers can damage the playing surface.

They do state that they have bowls shoes available to borrow at no extra cost, but it's doubtful that they would have enought to accommodate all the bowlers we bring with us.

We have checked with them and they have confirmed that playing in socks is fine, but 'at the bowler's risk'.
